Chief Executive Officer
Chetan Mathur is responsible for providing senior leadership and counsel to ensure the company is at the forefront of the ever-changing technology landscape.
In addition to Next Pathway, Chetan has established and grown 2 other information technology firms. He founded Sage Information Consultants in 1992, an international technology integrator that specialized in complex financial services software. Chetan oversaw Sage’s growth to become a leading supplier of IT consulting services for global banking and financial institutions. He negotiated the sale of Sage in June 2000 to a NASDAQ listed company.
Chetan co-founded M Systems Group (M) in 2003. Under his direction, M grew to become a leading global provider of out-sourced managed email and directory services to global financial services organizations. Chetan coordinated the sale of M to Bell Canada in 2006.
Chetan is also involved in numerous charitable organizations. He is one of the Founding Patron’s and served on the Board of Directors for Luminato (www.luminato.com) for 10 years, Canada’s preeminent festival of Arts & Creativity. Chetan is a member of the Board of Directors for the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF), and previously served on the Board of Governors for Roy Thomson/Massey Hall from 2010-2012.
In 2012, Chetan and his wife Clara established the Berlin Mathur Charitable Fund to benefit Kapi’olani Medical Center for Women & Children in Hawaii to provide financial support and care to Kapi’olani’s patients and families.
Chetan graduated from the University of Toronto with a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics and Computer Science.
Clara Angotti has over 25 years of technology management experience. She is focused on Next Pathway’s mission of delivering innovative solutions in the areas of Big Data and Digital Transformation.
From 1993 to 2000 she was the VP of Sales/Marketing for Sage Information Consultants, a technology consulting firm focused on providing services based on the Microsoft platform. After her management contract was completed with the acquiring company, Clara co-founded M Systems Group (M) in February 2002. In 2005 M Systems Group’s success caught the attention of several multi-national firms and was acquired by Bell Canada in July 2006.
Among her accomplishments, Clara has been a three-time finalist for the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award. Clara is also a recipient of the prestigious 2011 Canada’s Most Powerful Women: Top 100™ Award by the Women’s Executive Network. At the 2012 RBC Canadian Women Entrepreneur Awards, Clara was awarded the prestigious PROFIT Award for Excellence in Entrepreneurship, which is awarded to an individual who has launched one or more successful companies, has a proven track record of growth and profitability, and who is a role model to other entrepreneurs.
Clara received her Honours Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Toronto in 1988. Clara was a member of the Board of Directors of the Toronto Symphony Orchestra and is active in several charities in Toronto.
Chief Technology Officer
Satish Gungabeesoon is the Chief Technology Officer of Next Pathway, and oversees the Digital Transformation practice of the firm.
An experienced IT leader, Satish has over 30 years of technology leadership experience in areas including Service Oriented Architecture (SOA), Legacy Modernization, and Cloud Computing.
Previously, Satish spent 22 years at IBM, including time within the R&D and Consulting arms, and leading large-scale programs for the development of IBM products leveraging or enhancing the WebSphere stack.
Satish holds a degree in Electronic Engineering from the University of Wales, and holds various patents and publications in the areas of application transformation for modern devices, service architecture, and legacy modernization.
Badih Schoueri is the Chief Architect of Next Pathway, and oversees the Big Data practice for the firm in addition to R&D, technology strategy and product innovation.
Badih has spent his entire 20-year career in IT, specializing in the design and development of complex banking applications. Badih has vast experience in areas including Data Architecture, Big Data, Middleware, Application Development, and Cloud Computing.
Badih holds a degree in Applied Sciences and Engineering, and a Masters degree in Computer Engineering, specializing in Middleware, from the University of Toronto.
Chief Product Officer
Dave Johnston has over 25 years of experience leading digital and technology divisions in large financial service organizations. As Chief Product Officer at Next Pathway, Dave is responsible for executing the vision and strategy of our Big Data and Digital Transformation products.
Dave works closely with our development teams and collaborates with our clients and partners to gather their input and use cases which contribute to our continuous innovation and product roadmap.
Prior to joining Next Pathway, Dave led the technology divisions within various global banking and insurance organizations, in Canada and in the United States. In those capacities, he designed and delivered major transformation programs, including the development of one of the earliest online banking platforms. Dave has also led various digital divisions within large global enterprises, including his most recent post at AIG Insurance, where he led global digital marketing, analytics, and delivery.
Dave has a Mathematics and Computer Science degree from the University of Waterloo, and an MBA from the University of Western Ontario.
Chief Strategy Officer
As Next Pathway’s Chief Strategy Officer, Vinay oversees marketing, communications and go-to-market strategy for the firm. In his role, he works closely with our sales and product teams, along with our partner community, to craft the firm’s messaging and business development strategy.
Vinay has over 12 years of experience in the Technology, Media, and Telecommunications industries. Prior to joining Next Pathway, Vinay has held senior roles in marketing, sales strategy, and account management across many large organizations. This includes time at KPMG Canada where he was tasked with growing and managing the firm’s national account management community.
He is also heavily involved in the community, and currently serves as Chair of Bloor Information Life Skills, a municipal non-for-profit organization that offers a variety of counseling services.
Vinay has an HBA in Marketing and Communications from Wilfrid Laurier University.
Executive Vice President,
Jim is an accomplished business leader and entrepreneur in both Canada and Silicon Valley, with over 25 years of experience. As Executive Vice President of Business Development at Next Pathway, Jim is tasked with driving growth, sales and strategic initiatives for the firm on a global scale.
Throughout his career, Jim has led the growth and entry of large Silicon Valley-based technology companies into the Canadian market, including time as President and Country Manager of Stratacom Networks (acquired by Cisco Canada), Xylan Corporation (acquired by Alcatel Canada) and Access 360 (acquired by IBM). As a result, Jim brings strong business relationships across both Canadian and Silicon Valley markets, and has served as Executive in Residence or business advisor to many start-ups.
Prior to joining Next Pathway, Jim also held senior positions at Cisco Canada, and Rogers Communications as Vice President in Business Development and Product Marketing, respectively.
As Vice President of Business Development at Next Pathway, Kevin is focused on driving growth activity in the US market. With over 25 years of technical and business solutions experience in Financial Services, Insurance, Information Technology and Consulting, Kevin is focused on finding value for our clients in areas including Technology Architecture and Integration, Change Management, Business Intelligence, Security, and Compliance.
In his prior roles at large Consulting and Financial Services companies, Kevin has demonstrated to be adept at crisis management, problem solving, as well as accurately assessing client needs, and quickly developing achievable strategies for both Business and IT.
Kevin has degrees in Social and Behavior Sciences from Northern Arizona University, as well as a degree in Computer and Information Sciences from Devry University.
Kevin is based out of Phoenix, Arizona.
Director of Finance
Rohit provides the financial expertise to enable the successful implementation of Next Pathway’s strategy and initiatives.
Rohit is a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA), Certified General Accountant (CGA), and a fellow member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (FCCA). After completing his Bachelor Degree at York University, and earning his designations, Rohit jumped right into the financial sector, gaining experience in both investment banking and private equity. Following these roles and the knowledge obtained therein, Rohit decided to take on a new challenge in business development with Cisco Systems, where he managed and grew a national sales team. He took over the financial leadership of Next Pathway in 2015.
Wayne is an experienced IT professional with over 31 years of work experience. As Product Manager, Wayne oversees the development and roadmap of the firm’s suite of Big Data products.
Wayne has expertise in Product, Program and Project Management and System Administration in government and financial sectors with over 22 years experience in IT consulting.
He holds certifications in project management (PMI PMP), Agile methodologies (CSM) and Microsoft systems engineering (MCSE), as well as a BSc degree in Physics from University of Waterloo. His experience includes managing projects and products in the areas of Big Data Solutions, Enterprise Architecture, Data Architecture, Data Governance, Application Development, Service-Oriented Architecture and Data Centre Infrastructure.
He is an expert in Atlassian technologies (Jira, Confluence) and ITIL process frameworks. Wayne also enjoys a keen interest in music production, organic gardening and nutrition.
Senior Program Manager
Tamer Oksay has over 20 years’ experience in technology and strategic delivery for large enterprise clients. As our Senior Program Manager at Next Pathway, Tamer is responsible for orchestrating high performing large-scale teams. In this role, Tamer is also instrumental in providing ongoing advice and thought-leadership to our clients.
In addition to his program management duties, Tamer is also an important member of the Next Pathway product innovation teams; his guidance and input is incredibly valuable to our development teams.
Prior to Next Pathway, Tamer has led a number of high-profile projects and programs while working at leading professional services firms in North America, including 12 years with Deloitte.
His project delivery experience includes Risk & Compliance, Client Intelligence, Tax, Knowledge Management, Service Delivery, and Talent, across many verticals, including Financial Services, Health Care and Professional Services.
Tamer holds a Bachelor of Science in Engineering degree from M.E.T.U, Ankara, as well as a MBA degree in Information Management and Finance from the Illinois Institute of Technology. He also holds a certificate in Management of Enterprise Data Analytics through the University of Toronto.
